Thank you, all. It's just so hard to believe that the whole giant saga took off two years ago. Part of it seems like yesterday and a whole giant part seems like it was soooo long ago.

He's awesome. He's very healthy (other than the giardia thing) and he's on-target developmentally. We keep wondering if the Russians are going to be mad that they let him go!

Total sweetie. I love the hairline, too. It's very Russian. (Why is that? I never noticed a hairline as "Russian" before!) It's unbelievable that you started this two years ago. So much has happened since then, huh?

Sorry ladies, apparently my room-mate from college (and why do I insist on calling her that- rather than 'my friend'- I don't know- we both do it, too) has promised Nikolai to Ren, her neice (from China).

The cool thing about Ren is that Ren is her Chinese name and it dovetailed nicely with the Jewish thing about naming a new baby with the same initial as a deceased relative.

But, sadly, I am supposed to go get him tattooed with "Ren" on his arm.

I say we let the mommies arm wrassle. Watch out, ladies!

If I ever get to meet him and he warms up to me, I'm planting a kiss on that forehead.
