    Six years ago today-

    We submitted our formal request to adopt Nikolai Leonidovich Kolomokov to the Perm' Region Ministry of Education.

    Hard to believe -it's a cross of it seems like yesterday and it seems like he's always been with us.

                    We celebrate on Gotcha Day w/ the dude which is the day we landed at Dulles (4/29) and Rick and I usually raise a glass on the anniversary of the date we went to court (4/15). the December date is kind of wierd because it was also the day that the Duma changed the rules and we were so hoping we'd get grandfathered through- but no- he ended up going back on the Russian National databse for three more months which meant that at any time a Russian family could have adopted him. It was a crazy, horrible, insane time.
