  • Waterproof baby carrier

Has anyone used a waterproof baby carrier before? I'd like to take Jack to the pool this summer, but since I'd be doing it alone (of course ) I'm thinking the easiest way to manage with the two kids is to wear the baby. Does anyone have a waterproof baby carrier that they've used and liked?

    I'm looking at this one

I haven't used one, but a friend has one and liked it very much. She used the one you posted.

I have a piece of Solarveil material that I use as a wrap. A friend has the other half and she made a ringsling out of it. I like the Solarveil because it's really thin/sheer but at the same time blocks some of the UV rays. It also is lightweight in the water and dries pretty quickly in the sun.

Other people make ringslings and pouches out of it, too....so do a search. They aren't making this fabric anymore....so it's going to get harder to find....and some colors will be even harder.

It is a little scratchy, but not bad....Daegan never complained and it doesn't bother me, or my friend and her little one....and her baby and I both have sensitive skin.

There are also water pouches made out of swimsuit type material....and another (UV protective I think) material called Solarweave.

I got a solarveil ring sling to use in our pool...it was way too nubby/ scratchy for us... we are extremely fair and sensitive.

ETA My Solarveil material, that my ring sling is made of, reminds me of a nubby '70s window sheer .

I was going to suggest a solarveil RS or a solarweave Connecta. The Connects is a soft structured carrier similar to a Bjorn (but WAY better). The Solarweave material isn't necessarily designed for swimming, but it's the summer fabric that dries quickly, so I would use mine if I had not sold it last fall.
