I just thought I'd share my fun experience tonight.
I got a sitter for the boys and took Matalin to a "True Blue Women" meeting. Tonight's topic was recycling, and I was really interested to see what I didn't know / had wrong (plus I just wanted to get out).
I arrived late, and while there were single seats on the inside aisle and in the middle, I knew I'd have to nurse the baby, so I pulled out another folding chair and sat in the last row, very last seat. As the talk started, I realized I'd sat with the various candidates who'd come to talk to the group during the social hour -- I was sitting 2 people over from the guy I'll be voting for for congress. The baby started to fuss, so I pulled out my blanket & started to nurse just as the speaker asked the two reps who'd been instrumental in blocking or passing some-such-thing to please stand and "let's all give them a round of applause". So the man 3 to my left, and the one diagonally in front of me stand up, and the ENTIRE ROOM stands, turns and applauds them (or me, for my brilliant lactation - depending on how you look at it).
