Ok recent moms - which bottles do you like? I'm hoping the breastfeeding goes better this time but just in case I need to have a few in the house. We used Avent with A but they had BPA in them so I'm not using them again. I'd also like something that is dishwasher safe because if the bf'ing doesn't work hand washing them is a PIA!

I've heard good things about the Dr Browns but hear they are hard to clean??

Even if you only use one once in a while what do you use and would you recommend them?

    TIA!

We've always used Playtex Nursers (the ones with the drop-in liners). The drop ins are BPA free, and cleanup is incredibly easy. I love that it collapses as the baby drinks so they get less air w/o having 10 million pieces parts.

They're cheap, they're easy, and they've worked for all 3 of my kids.

I would try the Playtex ones too. I have friends who love them especially the ease of cleaning but my munchkin didn't care for it.
Also - if you purchased the old Avent bottles from Babies R Us, some stores will exchange those for BPA-free bottles!

I am using Born Free with DS #2 and they are fine -- BPA free and easy to use.

I have no other experience with bottles though as my first two REFUSED to eat even one supplemental bottle.

FWIW, I hate Dr. Brown's bottles--not because they are hard to clean (which they kind of are, I think), but because every single one I've owned has leaked like the dickens. Even if I handwashed only the component pieces. I've had really bad luck with them.

I never paid attention to the BPA thing, so I never shopped specifically for that, but I'll bet anything that if you google for "BPA-free bottles," you'll get some good hits. That sounds like a nice speciality item for a crunchy-mama store.

My very favorite bottle is a cheapie, Even-Flow bottle that is slightly angled at the neck. Both my kids LOVED it, it never clogged, it never leaked, and something about that angled-neck made the feeding position super-comfortable for them.

Because we are nursing and only using bottles occasionally, I kept the bottles I had used from DS 6 years ago. They are the Avent. DD like them but prefers the playtex drop in bottles. However, I am too damn cheap to purchase a whack of new bottles.

Now these are super-cute!! Totally BPA-free. Have no idea how they work though...

We had the same issue with the Dr. Brown's....I ended up just using the medela bottles because I couldn't stand seeing breastmilk leak all over DS's chest...that's a lot of work to get those bottles pumped. We still only have 3 bottles in circulation so this thread has been quite helpful since DS will be in daycare in the fall....

We used Avent and Evenflo glass nursers with the first four and Dr. Browns glass bottles with baby E. I've never had a leaking issue with Dr. Browns (or cleaning issus) but always with the Avent. We love any glass bottle because we feel comfortable putting them in the dishwashers. I'd say the easiest and cheapest option is just the traditional Evenflo glass nursers in either the 4 or 8 oz size.

For those of you that recommended glass - have you ever had an issue with breaking one? That seems to be a fear I have.

I know I could buy the same Avent ones BPA-free now but we did have leak issues which I'd prefer not to repeat.

The Russians used glass - probably for ease of cleaning purposes.

We didn't use bottles that often but the Dr. Brown's glass ones worked fine for us. We didn't have any leaking problems.
