My 3yo daughter just ran into her bedroom screaming and hid in the closet (because I was about to put her to bed) and in the process of doing so woke up her twin brother (I had just finished putting him to sleep).

Now putting him to sleep (again), told her to go upstairs to bed and wait. I promised her dire consequences, but I can't think of any.

Any other parents of twins out there?

No twins, but this happens between my 6 and 3 year old. Drives me batty! I have promised no books, earlier bedtime the next night and sometimes no TV the next day if it happens more than once for my 6 year old.

      Ohhhh that just gets me!
I have girls that are 13 months apart and I remember those days of interference in my schedule due to loud noises coming from one child or another!

Good luck getting the monkey's to sleep

Is drinking heavily an option? No? Sorry, I'm out of ideas...

          OH GOD YES.

Both little ones are asleep now. Just have to put my big girl to sleep -- one chapter of Little House on the Prairie -- and then it will be quiet.

Oh dear. I remember when our girls were little. They are 18 months apart and share a room. We gave up putting them to bed separately. Instead, hubby would lay on the floor in the doorway to their room and read out loud from a medical textbook. Worked every time!

This is one of the funniest stories I have ever heard. I love it each time you tell it. It says so much about his dedication to both medicine and his children.

I'm a grown woman, but my fascination also eventually gives over into Z's when DH does this.
