Well, we just got invited to a first birthday from one of the moms that I just met once and talked to for 10 minutes. I'm wondering what the etiquette is on gift-giving in this situation. What do you think?

If you bring your child to the birthday party, then bring a gift (a small toy, book, or the like) for the birthday baby. If you are not attending, then call or write with your regrets and best wishes for a happy birthday -- no gift required.Wife and #1 Fan of Attending Adult & Geriatric Psychiatrist.
