  • Can't decide between these two...

I'm trying to decide between these two toys for the baby. Since space & money are limited, I can't get both. Just wondering if any of your kids have first-hand experience with either of these and what you think.

I would probably go with the table as there appear to be more play options with it. However, for my son, toys like this had a very short life-span. He just didn't like them much. We got much more milage out of wooden block then we did out of the electronic stuff.

How old is your little one?

We don't have the exact one like the 1st one but have one that is similar and A loves it. She started playing with it as soon as she could crawl to it (without the legs) and as soon as she started pulling herself up on things we put the legs back on and she still plays with it, she'll be 21 months on Sunday.

We had an earlier incarnation of the piano when my youngest was around 1. He was nuts about the songs it would play, but didn't really use it as a "learning toy", at least like it could have been. Ours had a seat and he would sit there and play/listen to songs while I was on the computer.....probably on this site! The songs did get old, honestly. I would go with the table if I were you, unless you have noticed that your baby really enjoys music.

We don't have either one, but I would get the table because it looks more versatile.

We don't have either, but we have a version of the activity table (first option). Both of my kiddos really liked it, and DS#2 is 19 months old and still plays with it a lot.

Oh, my word. I'd never get either. We have no place for something like that, I can't stand plastic bulky toys, and I hate noisy toys (I take the batteries out of practically every gift my parents give DS).

But, if I were someone completely different and willing to have one, I'd get the piano!

I'd go with the table -- more stuff to play with. We have something similar http://www.amazon.com/LeapFrog%C2%AE...3829303&sr=8-1 and it's been a big hit for 3 months so far.

We have the LeapFrog table (very similar), and both of my kids loved it.

Thanks guys! I knew you'd have great advice. The table it is.

GMW - I totally get what you mean about the noise & clutter. I just feel like she doesn't have enough to play with, gets bored of the toys she has and isn't crawling yet. We're loosely following the AAP recommendation of no TV until 2 so I'm desperate for things to keep her entertained.

Btw Kris - she is 8 months old!

Every child who comes to our house LOVES it. My almost four year old still plays with it - just differently. I don't know why they all love it, but they really do! Also, if you don't have a mirror at baby height, I would get one.
