  • is this normal after immunizations?

Miya is eating much less than she usually does. Just 2oz every 3-4 hours. Overnight she's eating that amount, but still sleeps a good 7 hours in a row.

Could her loss of appetite have something to do with the shots she got on Wed.?

    TIA

She got the shots Wed? My kiddos went "weird" re: food, sleep, appetite right after the shots and for about twenty-four hours afterward, but not two days later.

But, that doesn't mean much! Maybe one of medical professionals here might know?

Good idea. Did she get Rotarix or Rotateq? That completely messed up Evangeline. Baby tummy issues, tar like stool, just yuck. I hope she feels better soon.

Yes, exactly. The rotavirus oral thingy. I left a message and will see what she says.

Evangeline did okay with the RotaTeq (still fussy though) but when she was going to get her third dose the office switched to Rotarix and the side effects were not good. Good luck!!

Thanks--Miya is a wreck! It seems like it did a number on her belly. I swear I changed the world's heaviest diaper today. She's so fussy and cranky. I feel so badly for her, because she seems so hungry, yet doesn't like the bottle to even touch her lips.

The pediatrician's office never called me back. Grrr. I called again close to 5pm, and nothing. I'm pretty pissed! I'm going to call dh's brother tomorrow to ask what to expect.

Not looking forward to the next two doses of this stuff!

This probably doesn't help, but that is exactly why - with the blessing of our pediatrician, of course! - I declined the rotavirus vax w/ DS#2 (it wasn't available when DS#1 was a baby...). Plus, I had a friend whose kid had it and it really screwed him up for a few days.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this, alison!

Both of mine reacted more to the oral rotavirus vax than I would've liked. I was going to say that with Kai I notice a decrease in appetite before he gets sick....but sounds like that has happened to Miya. Their gut issues from the rotavirus vax seemed to empty them out then it was over. Hopefully she's better today after the blowout!

Poor Miya and poor mommy. It took Evangeline a good ten days to get through feeling miserable after the Rotarix.

The good thing is that when she sleeps, she sleeps hard and well.
