Our babies were pretty much done with their bassinets by the time they were 6 weeks old. I second the usefulness of a pack-n-play, they are really great. The peapod link Jenn provided looks great as well, and I could totally see my kiddos playing in it as they got older.

It's starting to get fun. She smiles and is starting to really show us that we're at least doing an ok job. She's in her bassinet for bed now. It's like wrangling an alligator. Whoa... But it's going ok. She's definitely too big for it, but it'll do for the two nights we're in the hotel.
