  • O'Hare Airport

Ok gang, I'm flying with both kids by myself next Sunday. We have a 3 1/2 hour layover in Chicago.

Has anyone ever been to the Kids on the Fly in Terminal 2 or to the Play it Safe in Terminal 5? If we come into Terminal 3 (American) can we get to those two things without going in and out of security? Are they age appropriate for A?

I'm planning on putting A's toys and books in her backpack and using that as her carry on. I will take the diaper bag as mine. I'm planning on wearing R and putting A in the umbrella stroller. We'll be checking the car seats and 1 large suitcase. My parents are picking us up on the other end.

    What am I forgetting??

Tips for making this go smoothly??

Thanks - I've never flown with both kids, let alone by myself - why did I think this was a good idea??

    Good luck!
I'm not entirely certain, but I do think you may have to exit and re-enter security from Terminal 3.
I'll be watching this thread closely. Have a wonderful trip, Cheri!

I'm sorry I can't give you any advice, I just wanted to say I'm sure you'll be fine, the anticipation and worrying about it will hopefully be worse than actually doing it. My only advice is to call the airport or ask when you land in Chicago, and avoid going through security again at all costs! Also when I would fly with the family I nannied for, they always allowed the kids to pick out a stuffed animal or a treat if they behaved on the plane and in the airport - not sure if that would work for you or not, but just a thought.
