I followed this thread, and I kept thinking "Who is Tricia @ Pampers?" Are they just cruising the net doing damage control anywhere they find dissatisfaction with their product?
      Yikes!

Deebs, your poor sweet baby! Is there anyway to predict how long the healing will take?

I only use the Huggies or Kirkland Signature that they sell at Costco- but I have used Pampers overnight diapers sometimes. What I noticed was that if you didn't use the diapers right away (I left some at my mom's house and then tried to use them about 3 months later when we returned there for a visit) and the diapers were really brittle and the super-absorbant material they use (looked like silica gel) was seeping out of the diapers! Wierd. I was never a fan of Pampers.

But, Tricia's a mom too! So let's all stick together!!! She cares. She really really does.

so sorry for the chemical burn. unbelievable.

I'm expecting our first baby soon and I got some Pampers Swaddlers recently, but they are the sensitive kind and don't say they are dry max. Should I be concerned about using these or is it only the ones that say dry max that are a problem? We are only planning to use disposables for the first little bit and then switching to cloth.

P&G keeps telling us that nothing has changed in the chemical make-up of the Pampers, they were just made thinner. This whole thing is so weird.

If you have swaddlers already, the old ones were white and soft on the inside, with a faint yellow line (basically an indicator for when baby is wet) on the front. We're out of the NB size, but supposedly the yellow line is gone. Also, the ones with Dry Max have a blue tinge to the inside, and it feels rough. Supposedly, not all of the diaper packs with Dry Max in them are marked.

DH spoke with a physician yesterday from P&G who agreed that diapers can cause contact dermatitis in some kids, and different products affect different kids differently. About three hours after that, P&G put out another press release basically saying that diapers don't cause diaper rash. They really need to get their PR under control. These diapers may in fact have the fewest reactions that they've seen with any of their products. However, they just need to admit that in some children, Pampers might cause a problem. Just like in some children, Huggies, Luvs, Target brand, or cloth diapers might cause a problem.

I don't understand how that is possible. If they made the diapers thinner without changing them wouldn't they hold less instead of more which is what they are marketing? I think they had no idea this would happen and they're running around like chickens with their heads cut off. They should say exactly what you said Deb, that some children have issues with certain diapers. They're not going to be able to diaper every child out there.
