    Hi Everyone,

I have a quick question to ask. One of my big products at the store are baby announcements. So, I have added a baby section to my store due to customers request, and need some great product suggestions. Think boutiqish, useful, unique and definitely gifty. Nothing available at target or babies r us.

I try to keep most items made in the US, but am open to anything.

    Lines I have so far-
Bella Tunno- made locally in NC, this has been really popular
    www.bellatunno.com
    Aden + Anais- swaddling blankets
    www.adenandanais.com
Zebi Baby- Organic Line, very cute
    www.zebibaby.com

Has anyone heard of deglingos? I heard they are the new up and coming stuffed animal.

Thanks in advance for any input!

I haven't heard of the stuffed animals, but here are two products that I'd suggest:

    Trumpette: cute socks (http://www.trumpette.com/)

BabyLegs: leg warmers, great for cloth diaperers (http://www.babylegs.com/)

Also, the really frilly tutus are popular around here. I'm not sure of any specific brand, but they'd be good to have.

mudpie makes cute decorations. Be sure to stock some stuff for boys. Most of the baby boutiques here overwhelmingly favor girls and then have a few boys items with rocker or skull motifs. It's really hard to find sweet clothes for baby boys.

I second the Trumpette socks, we have some for A that look like little maryjanes and they are the best socks we have for her. She doesn't kick them off, they're cute, and they don't cut off her circulation.

I love the Aden and Anais blankets and trumpette socks. I love Skoon, but their products are not made in the US. If you're looking for aprons... I know where you can get some..

Are you going to stock up on college baby gear? We are big Longhorns fans. I paid $30 for a cute 10"X13" print (that I will frame) for the baby's room. It's a little girl holding a stuffed Bevo toy and a cheerleader's pom pom.. On the bottom it says "... In training" When Mom get’s time I’m sending her back to the Co-op in Dallas to buy a dress not sold online $60 for the baby’s One Year old pics. Apparently it’s not on the website, so it must be made in Texas. I'm not sure, but I bet the Duke/UNC/ECU crowd would buy that stuff as well.

There is a website and company info on the back of the print. I can’t seem to get the website to work.

            Siloam Springs, AR 72761
            877-616-1224

I don’t know if you are going to do clothes but I’ve heard smock dresses are back in this year. I bought the baby a hand made red one ($39) at a shop in Texas when I was home. I can post a pic if you’d like? I just found the tag. It was made by: Grannie’s Creations (318) 649-7496.

I also have bought several things made by Elegant Baby. Silver plated brush and comb set, piggy bank, baby cup, rattle, and the rocking horse. Other than that I wish I could have found a nicer baby book. I had a hard time finding something online as well. I wanted good quality and unique. I’m still looking. Let me know if you get anything in like that and I’ll be over in a flash! Haha!

              Kelly,
Your store is the kind of shop I look for whenever we move. Now that DH is a real dawkter, I buy only non-essential but great stuff for the nurses. The Aden and Anais blankets are fabulous. Someone on iMSN (and I have no idea who) was raving about them before I had baby #3, and I couldn't have survived her first four months without them. Trumpette socks are great, too, and they have a boy version as well as girl.
I just bought DS a canvas night light by "Oopsy Daisy." Don't know what else is in their line, but their nightlights are adorable.
Also, LOVE the luggage tags by "Boatman Geller."
"Angel Dear" also has great burp cloths (that come in a cute little suitcase package), cuddle blanket/animals for cuddle buddies, cushy rattles, etc.

Another thing that was hard to come by but I've heard that lots of moms are looking for. . . nursery rhyme and story book themed baby room decor. You'd think it would be everywhere. Classic theme. Non-gender specific. But it's impossible to find and the things that I have found have been prohibitively expensive (like $900 bed linens).

Oh, and I just love the "Le Top" line of baby clothes. It's crazy expensive and I only buy it on consignment here but very clever and cute clothes for boys and girls. It washes nicely too.

A friend of mine from high school has started a line of really cool infant/toddler onesies, shirts, etc.. She has a terrific design concept and is starting to get noticed. The company is called Modern Me. http://www.modernmebaby.com/page/page/4672957.htm

She makes all of the designs herself.

I haven't seen deglingos in person, but if you're going to do stuffed animals, I would do Jellycat (Anthropologie carries them, and they are so soft!).

                          These are all great suggestions...

I just had someone walk in and ask for Trumpettes! I knew this was the right crew to ask.

So, I have an order with Jellycat on hold I was actually going back and forth between the two companies. Jellycat is defintiely the more traditional look....hmm.

I am learning so much....baby leg warmers, wubbanubs, lovies and sleep sacks, I feel like I have entered a whole new world. Thanks for the input, I have asked for wholesale info on a bunch of these. If anything else comes to mind, let me know! This is much more informative than aimlessly searching the internet.

You can tell that I'm living in baby/toddler land right now (and loving it).

has great closet dividers, suction plates, and silverware. Don't know what else they carry - these are the things I've bought as gifts.

glad we could help! People (including myself) go nuts for baby stuff. Mom and I were in Washiington (NC) at a street festivial this summer. Mom was buying these hang made little dresses from one of the booths. Something the lady said really made me laugh. "I'm in the Grandma business. Not the baby business, but the Grandma business!"
