This is a timely post for me. Crystal - great idea on getting it at REI with their 20% off coupon. I've been looking on Craigslist for used ones, and they are still pretty expensive. I'm debating about whether or not to get the duallie. Even though we only have one kid right now, we'll probably be having another one in the next couple years, and I'm guessing I'll want the double stroller then. They are so expensive though!

We found that on craigslist - the only reason ppl were selling BOBs was to get a dualie! Finally, the prices were only $30-40 cheaper than a brand new one. So we bought a new one, and when a sibling comes along, we'll sell on craigslist for $50 cheaper and buy a dualie! At least that was our rationalization at the time. Also - REI has a great return policy if you hate it!!

Chariot Cougar2. We used it every day for at least 18 months. We can walk or bike 75% of where we need to go, and it was nice to use it for both. It has loads of storage and can occasionally fit a third child shoved in there. Drawback: super pricey. We got it the REI scratch and dent sale, just when we were about to pony up for a full price one.

Chariot Cougar here, too. We used all of the attachments- biking, running and walking. Super expensive but we were only going to do this once and had already spent 45k on getting him, what was another 500 bucks for the stroller? and true confession, once he started to walk, when we went to the grocery store, the food went in the stroller and the kiddo walked next to me. It's that big.

LOVED my BOB Revolution when I only had Adele. Then we sold it to get the Phil & Ted Sport. The P&T is not as smooth as the BOB but I didn't want a side by side dualie and I have grown to love my P&T because it is my only stroller, I can use it at the park or at the mall without feeling like I'm taking up the whole road.

Some stroller shops let you trade in too so if you decide to the get the BOB now you can look into a trade in when you do need a double.

Yep--BOB Revolution ALL THE WAY!! I could not get a BOB dualie when I needed to transport both DD#1 and #2 (WAY too wide for city living and an apartment), so I got a Phil & Ted's jogging dualie (stacked vertically and much more compact), which works wonderfully. But it's no BOB!

We are trying (well DH doesn't give a crap) to find a place for all the baby stuff. Right now the Bob is in our bedroom taking up space. I'm contemplating storing it in the trunk of my car but I'm terrified someone will steal it. We don't live in the ghetto, but it isn't the best area. Would you do it?

Do you have a garage or somewhere you can hang a bike hook? I'm pretty sure if it gets stolen out of your car your insurance will cover it, or maybe your renters will.

No garage unfortunately. That's the issue. My parents house would work for now but wouldn't help after we need to use it. I didn't think about renters insurance, but I think our deductible is more than the stroller costs.

Also, all this jogging stroller talk is dangerous. I went looking at Phil & Ted's website, saw the dual in-line options, and showed DH. "Look look, how cool is this?"
DH: "Ummm, shouldn't we at least be trying to conceive child #2 before we buy a 2-seater stroller?"
                              Woops! *laugh*
