Do I need to removed the stuffing from a pocket diaper before washing it?

I always did - I separated them as I changed the kid so that you didn't have to do it as you put them in the washer.

And this was my prime reason to not get pockets. But S is leaking through even disposibles at night and I am at my wits end. I bought a tiny tush (ironic since she has wide hips) and it seems to be working if I add both liners and a hemp booster...

I've accidentally washed them stuffed and I don't think they come as clean. I also separate mine before I throw em in the diaper pail, so I don't have to dig in the bag. I like the pockets bc I like being able to customize the absorbency and how quickly they dry.

I never separated them, they always came apart in the wash. Never seemed to notice a problem with them getting clean either.
