I too used the 3 Day Method when DS was 26 months. It took a few more than three days (not to mention the fact that we went through 26 pairs of underwear the first day), but after that the accidents were very few and far between. And the potty prizes were in abundance. lol

We used the 3 day potty training book too. So far, we've just gotten to where DD says "Tinkle Potty" as she is going. I did it "by the book" for 4 days and have her in panties whenever we are home. I'm hoping that it works by the fall so she can go to preschool.

We have started potty training. I've read two books so far, which were pretty opposite in methods but I think I learned some good stuff from both. The books I read were Toilet Training in Less Than a Day (it was written in the 70's) and Potty Training boys the easy way. I just downloaded the Potty Training in 3 Days ebook. It was more than I wanted to spend, but cheaper than a box of diapers . Wish us luck. I hope he's ready in time for preschool this fall!

I started potty training DS2 one week ago (he's thirty ... nine? months, I think?). I used the put-them-right-in-underwear method with both boys with fairly good success; he's staying dry during the day and *finally* pooping on the toilet.

So thankful to only have one child in diapers!

I am thinking that later this month, I will be making a big push to get S out of diapers. I just can't justify it any more and she is old enough to use the potty.

My guy is doing good so far. As long as we are home & he's got a bare bum he is peeing (in a bowl) & pooping in the potty on his own. He even empties & flushes. He likes doing it on his own & doesn't ask for help. He won't sit on the potty to pee & hasn't gotten to the point of being able to remove clothing himself. I picked up some y front undies hoping that I can teach him to open the front to pee since he only wants to stand. I'm also thinking of getting a few plastic cups for him to pee into when we are out & when we go on our trip in 1.5 weeks. So far public potties are scary to him. Any one with independent boys have any tips or suggestions?

Are the potties scary because they flush by themselves? Carry stickie notes in your bag and cover the sensor, that is my only tip. Haven't PT'd a boy yet

I think it's that they are big and he can't reach them standing. He refuses to 'balance' with me holding him. We haven't actually seen any 'self flushers' yet. That's why I'm thinking of using a cup. We can take it to the bathroom and he can pee into it then pour it into the toilet. Feeling stuck with the clothing though.

We went w/ sit to pee first, then learn to stand because adult toilets are way too big. One time catching him putting the little pecker ON the porcelain of a public restroom while trying to stand was enough. It also eliminates more of the aiming problems as well.

Holy cow! Yesterday, after her nap, Sophie spent the afternoon in panties with NO accidents! I put her in a pull up while we were driving around town looking at the damage, because I didn't want to risk an accident in my mom's car. She used the potty at my sister's house. I am thrilled!

This morning at daycare she is in a diaper again because I don't think she can handle the distraction of the other kids yet. But, if she can stay dry while at school, I will gladly put her into undies! And to think a couple of weeks ago, she was saying that she would not go on the potty...

Kenny is using the potty all the time (though still having poop issues), but he won't wear underwear. He runs away from me or goes and gets a pull up and puts it on himself. I told DH that once we're out of the current package I am NOT buying more. Any tips? We have the Thomas ones (his favorite). I'm so frustrated! He's so strong that it really is hard to get the underwear on him without me getting hurt. Is this a boy thing?
