      He does have a vas. I have my own issues that necessitate the surgery. I'm excited not for birth control (we already have that with his vas), but for pain relief for me.

        My sister, who is an Women's Health NP, recommends Essure if you're done - in office procedure and very high success rates.
        Wife to NSG out of training, mom to 2, 10 & 8, and a beagle with wings.

          I <3 my Essure, and mine was definitely not in-office (I was under a general because they did an endometrial ablation at the same time, which they don't do any more) but be ready to explain it to *every* new medical professional you talk to. NONE of them I've talked to have any idea what it is. The ob/gyn types have usually at least heard of it; I had a ultrasound tech who was excited to finally get to see one (she hadn't before then).

            My friend had Essure placed. Passed the follow-up test and then got pregnant. She is due the same day I was. Grrr.
