  • to cancel? or not to cancel

Ayla's 2nd birthday party is tomorrow afternoon. She woke up this morning with a 101.4 degree fever with no other symptoms. She's only had a fever 2 other times so I don't really know what to expect from her.
Think I should go ahead and call and cancel it now? Or wait and see how she feels tomorrow? I'm confused. It's supposed to rain tomorrow anyway (big surprise) so moving it to another weekend wouldn't be necessarily bad. ahhhh help

I've had to reschedule toddler parties. I would err on the cautious side and make the call.

Did she get the chicken pox vaccine recently? It will cause a fever about a week after the vaccine that resolves in about 24h.

Could also be an ear infection. Sometimes the only symptom for a while is the fever. Whatever it is, she's contagious right now, so I'd make the call. Sorry about your sick baby girl!

I sent out the email to reschedule.
Went to check on her in her bed and she had a 104 degree fever. She was laying with her eyes half open and was almost completely non responsive. I would say Ayla are you in there? and she would just barely move her mouth "no" it was so sad/scary. My husband looked and she has an ear infection, I just hope that is what is causing the fever. I gave her some ibuprofin and now her fever is completely gone. Hoping this isn't a yucky virus and just the ear. my poor baby.
