We have the Chicco KeyFit 30. DS hates it with a passion, but he hates to be held by anything that is not human. We're going to move him to a convertible very soon (4 months/17 lbs) in hopes that he'll like it better, but I'm glad we got the 30 because we are going to put it in DH's car so there is an alternative way to transport him in an emergency without buying a second convertible.

So - find a stroller I like, find a seat I like, don't get hung up on getting a "system", and a 22lb will probably be sufficient until they will be comfortable/safe in a convertible (and lighter)...

You guys are the best I can't wait to start shopping!

In terms of stroller lightness/usability, you want to make sure that you can fold and lift/stole it with one hand. Also, practice lifting it to the height of your trunk.

I originally thought that I'd do a lot of carrying too but my kid ended up being on the large side (90-95th percentile), so I opted out very early. I loved that the infant carseat was easily removable and hooked into the stroller. Even if you only use it for 6 months, it's totally worth it.

We had a graco infant seat and a bob stroller w/infant adapter. DD was about 4-5 months when she outgrew the infant seat (she is a tall baby). She now has a britax marathon in one car and a sunshine kids radian 65 in the other. I didn't like any of the travel systems.
