  • pregnancy pillow?

Anyone tried one? I am getting to the point where it's hard to get comfortable at night. I have friends who swear by these things, and some who think they are the biggest waste of money ever. Anyone have any suggestions for good ones? Or tried one and hated it?

I tried several of the pregnancy specific pillows and could never get comfortable. I finally just bought one of the long body pillows, you'll really just have to try them and see how you sleep too.

I just bought 3 extra-firm king-sized pillows. So far, so good - but talk to me in another 8 weeks or so! I like that they are big enough that they don't really move around on their own or get lost on the bed, but small enough that they can be repositioned if needed (every time I get up in the middle of the night!) It made a huge difference in the quality of my sleep.

I just bought a plain long body pillow from Target--I did right away because my boobs and tummy were so sore at first. It's great until DH steals it in the middle of the night

Ditto to what ST said. Even the pillow stealing. (What's up with that?!)
Also, to be honest, there's not a whole lot that helps after a certain point. You can't sleep well and it's uncomfortable. That's where sympathy comes into play. Oh! And lots of massages.

I didn't buy one, because we moved when I was in my third trimester. I couldn't imagine lugging it around.

Gosh, so many ladies here are pregnant--it brings back the memories of that awful pain in my breasts, round ligament pain shortly after that, and feeling like the baby was going to just fall out (unfortunately it doesn't work that easily!).

I'd get a pillow the second time around for sure!!! It helped alleviate the pressure on my hips, and it'd be great to not have to hunt around the bed for it in the middle of the night.

I would love one. I heard the Snoogle was great, but I just can't make myself spend that much on one. I do use a regular-sized pillow between my legs, all the way down to my feet.

DH surprised with the Snoogle as a gift when I was in 3rd tri and it was a godsend. I LOVED it. I slept a lot more soundly after I started using it. Can't recommend it enough. Although, you do feel strange crawling into it at night and getting yourself properly positioned.

UPDATE!!! A friend lent me her pillow. I'm not sure which one it is, but it's shaped like a big wormy C and i love love love LOVE it. I am making my husband stuff it into his suitcase for our trip tomorrow. I wish I had had one of these with my first! Although, I agree, it is weird getting into bed at night. He always laughs at me... whatever.
