  • 21 month old sleep

Ok gang I'm at a loss. R isn't sleeping like usual. He still goes to bed at 7:30 and wakes up sometime between 6 and 7. If he wakes up before 6 I go in, give him back his paci/blanket and lay him back down and he'll usually go right back to sleep or at least stay quietly in his room until 6 or 7.

The thing is now he's wanting or needing a morning nap. He hasn't had a morning nap since he was MUCH younger. He took several our first few weeks here but I just attributed it to the time change and all of the other changes but now he's doing it again. Yesterday he fell asleep at childcare at the gym and today he fell asleep after dropping A off for school so I brought him home and put him down in his crib.

We don't have a video monitor so I don't know if he's going right to sleep at 7:30 but he's quiet. He knows that is bedtime.

He is still in his crib and beside his blanket/paci he usually has a sippy cup with a very minimal amount of water in it and a few board books. I checked yesterday and he's not teething. He doesn't seem to be eating a lot more then normal so I don't know if its a growth spurt...

    Ideas/suggestions??

BabyK is almost 20 months and he often takes a morning nap but he wakes around 5:30 or 6. Could R be teething? A second set of molars is due around 24 months.

This morning it was about 90 minutes but because of it he didn't take an afternoon nap.

Sometimes he dozes off in the car in the morning but if its less then 20 minutes or so I can wake him, feed him lunch and then it doesn't affect his afternoon nap. Its these that affect his afternoon nap that are killing me.

No, as far as I can tell he isn't teething though I wouldn't be surprised if his two year molars were coming in early as all of his other teeth did too.
