  • Birthday present for 2yr old girl

Hi oh wise ones. J's best friend's little girl is turning two and I want to get her an awesome gift. If you have had a two year old daughter, what was her all time favorite toy?

When looking through toys I am remembering my favorite toys, but they live in a condo with no back yard and not a lot of space, so I am wondering if getting any of these is inappropriate:

When going for smaller toys, I remember having farm and doll houses like this as a kid... so I was leaning towards that...

I just didn't know if that one was too flimsy and if you had any other suggestions, opinions, comments... bring it on.

My cousin's daughter just turned two. She's really into Disney Princesses, so I purchased a book about Cinderella.
She also enjoys Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, so I found a huge coloring book (the pages/images are bigger, making them easier to color) and it was a big hit.

My 5 yr olds got these at that age, and they STILL play with them. The clothes are really easy to snap on and off, but not so easy that they fall off. The shoes just slide right on too. (unlike Barbie shoes, UGH!!!) http://www.toysrus.com/product/index...ductId=2373328

If they don't have a lot of room I wouldn't get the cozy coupe. If you want to do tables and chairs I would get foldable child size, they have ones that lock so that kids can't pinch their fingers. Adele has that table set and I hate it. My kids have several of the Fisher Price Little People sets, farm, zoo, house, etc and love them. Adele still plays with them and Robert has just gotten into them so that farm you posted would be like that. The doll is also a good idea if she's into dolls, Adele still really isn't into dolls which personally I think is odd but who knows.

Gifts for friends kids are hard because you want to look thoughtful but kids can and are into so many different things. One will love it, one will hate it.

We love the fridge phonics. The gifts you listed L. Jane look a little pricey. I would not spend that much on even my own child for a birthday.

Is she a music loving kid? There is music and CDs to Sandra Boynton's books. My kids' favorite was Rhinoceros Tap. DD2 is almost 12 and still loves that CD.

DD loves play doh these days! I put her in the high chair (in the kitchen) and she goes to town on with that stuff! Maybe a Play Doh kit with all the toys and stuff?

Moon Sand is pretty good, too. I think it cleans up easier.

Another thing our kids love; cookbooks. They make very easy-to-follow ones with lots of pictures. Lots of kids love helping out in the kitchen ans kid-specific cookbooks usually have super easy recipes.

This is Ayla's favorite toy. And I think every 2 year old should have one. All of her friends love it too, it doesn't take up a lot of space, it's super durable and it is FUN!

Although, I just asked her what her favorite toy was and she said "my Dora hairbrush!" haha

We just got some of this mess free finger paint at Target the other day and it is really awesome too.

In our house, we love fridge phonics, and our cozy coupe.
Also, my almost two year old is attached at the hip to her Bitty Baby.

It's pricey, but DD #1 is almost 6 and still plays with hers, and it's in great shape. You could also order one that somewhat resembles the little girl.
