  • Snow boots for toddlers

We are heading to Whistler. We've got rainboots for dd, but when it snowed here last month, her feet got so cold, even with thermal socks on.

Are Bogs worth the $ for just one week of wear...?

Because we were moving somewhere that gets SO MUCH SNOW (except for this year), I sprang for Bogs. What I like about them is this - they are snow and rain boots. I will probably buy more as my kiddos outgrow them, but will no longer buy rain boots for them. Are you planning on tons of outdoor play? If so, I say get snow boots (although you may want to just get some lands end or similar on sale for only a week). If not, I wouldn't get any winter boots.

Thanks! We get snow once/year here, so it really is a matter of just a week's worth of wear!

The only thing about Land's End is that for me their shoes are so uncomfortable. I had them when I was in Chicago, and threw them out, because 1) they hurt like hell and 2) they had really poor ventilation and both my feet and the shoes smelled awful.

REI is having a sale on Bogs right now ($31). I may head over today, but I think it'll be slim pickings. I'd be ok with buying them with more kids to hand them down to.

If you can get them for $30, do it. Just make sure you're rounding up a size and hopefully she'll at least get to wear them through spring rain (and if she grows like my oldest DD, into the fall, too).

My kids LIVE in their Bogs. My mom buys them a new pair as soon as the old are outgrown. They last 10 times as long as any other footwear -- DS hasn't grown recently so he's been in the same pair for a year and he's finally worn the sole too thin. The parents at preschool comment if he DOESN'T wear them. And DD loves her blue flowered ones (though she loves her leather mary janes more). Both kids got cold hands long before they got cold feet during our recent snowstorms, and they can put them on themselves so they're usually the footwear of choice if they're just dashing out to play.

            Tl;dr YAY BOGS!

              BOGs for $31...

You would be insane not to buy those at that price. Good luck! I bet they clear out fast. I would love to buy some for my kids but I've never been able to justify the price for so many little feet. I usually hit the LLBean sales.

ETA: I'm impressed. REI called me to tell me that someone had just returned a pair of boots in M's size! They did a search for the things that I had purchased, and found my member number and phone number. Tracked me down! YAY!
