Strollers (so addictive!)

So I've been spending way too much of my very limited spare time researching strollers. I think it's become a bit of an obsession- the search for the non-existent perfect stroller. Can anyone relate to this craziness?

My current stroller has two handlebars (like an umbrella type stroller) and I need one with the one bar that goes across so I can push it with one hand and walk the dog in the other hand. The dog is a puller so I can't tie him around my waist. I also need the stroller to maneuver well (again, need to be able to push it with one hand). It has to also be lightweight (I'm a weakling), and to be able to fit in the trunk of my Mazda 6 (sedan).

So far, I'm considering either the Baby Jogger City Mini or the Britax B-Agile. Anyone have any opinions on which is better, or any suggestions for other strollers that meet the above criteria?

Go to a baby store and try a bunch out! We have the Chicco, and I love it! I push it 1-handed all the time. Also, when the pup comes with, I wrap the leash once around my palm and then grab onto the handle (so I'm pushing with both hands) I do push it one-handed when DD gets fussy and wants to be carried I can pick it up and put it in my SUV one-handed, and I'm no weightlifter! It does take up a bit of room, though.

I had an urban mountain buggy. Amazing thing & it does fold in half easy. Not sure its light though- 20lbs. That thing turned on a dime, was easy to push with one hand & gave a very smooth ride. I didn't have a car so never folded it & put it in a trunk but like I mentioned above it does fold in half easily.

The BRU circular has the City Mini stroller for $149. They are also price matching lower advertized prices. So, if you want it, this may be a good time to buy it.

I've been really happy with my Graco LiteRider stroller. I just got the one that matched my carseat, and Graco is eligible for BRU's 20% off coupons, so it wasn't too expensive. I liked it so well that we got the matching double stroller when we had DD. It's nothing fancy, and you probably shouldn't jog with it, but it's handled our use well - lots of walking on roads and sidewalks, and some outdoor festivals on grass/packed dirt. The single turned really easily, and the double turns well for its size, but of course not as sharply as the single.

I LOVE baby gear, stroller especially (I know how dorky that is). We have had everything from the free umbrella stroller to the Emmajunga pram. Like most items, you truly do get what you pay for. That doesn't mean everyone needs the pricey stroller just make sure you buy one that will suit your needs. If it's going to be a high use item I would spend more money. This time I am pretty sure we are going with the City mini double. I already have a variety of singles for when dd3 won't be needing the stroller too.

They have the Bob strollers at BRU this week. We are supposed to get one. Now I am using the Graco Snap n Go which is great but not for exercising.

If I could do it all over again, I'd probably get the City Mini or City Elite over the BOB. It's awesome, but we could have spent less and been happy

I have the BOB and I'm thrilled with its performance on the crazy Cleveland sidewalks. My friend has the city mini and with the smaller wheels, hers does not handle as well. That being said, that sucker is heavy! I would say it is not for someone who has to frequently do steps to get outside.

Wow. I'm so jealous of you Americans! The Canadian Babies R Us doesn't even carry the City Mini at present, and the places that do sell it charge about $270 for it. Ridiculous.

I got the Chicco Cortina Travel System in the Discovery color. I bought it preowned in excellent condition for $100, and it doesn't expire until 2014 (for those that are concerned!)

I have a Bugaboo Cameleon and probably have several thousand miles on it. . I usually walk everywhere and rarely drive, so it's basically my car.

We also bought a Quinny Zapp for shorter trips and we leave it in our car. The Quinnys are far too low to the ground, and my 6'3" husband looks like he's pushing a doll's stroller.

The Bugaboo Bee might be an option. I love the handling on the Bugaboos.

ETA: I hope no one is offended by this post--we hope to get use out of the stroller for another baby, if we ever can. And you can pass them on or sell them for a pretty good price!

Re: what Alison said. Isn't it funny that strollers have become a status item? That someone could be offended by what someone else chooses to buy? It's like an automobile with competative parenting/judgment attached. I initially bought a Graco travel system because that was what everyone had in Cleveland and I thought I'd look silly pushing a pricy stroller. In Miami, everyone has Bobs, bugaboos, baby joggers, quinnys. Now, I push a pricy double stroller that is not sold within 100 miles of my city. And I always feel compelled to tell people that I got it on sale when people comment on how expensive it looks. (As though that comment is even a normal thing to say.)

I got the BOB because my neighborhood's sidewalks were built before they were required to have ramps... so it would be impossible to use a stroller without suspension. Oh and a century (might be exaggerating...I really don't know) of wear and tear makes the sidewalks completely uneven, the suspension is so nice.
