My daughter has just started pulling up to standing, and I fear she may soon learn how to escape the Pack N Play that she's been sleeping in while we're out of town. Does anyone have any advice on crib tents (especially those for Pack N Plays?) ie. What brand? Where to buy? I'm totally freaked out at the idea of her potentially escaping the Pack N Play because she is only 8 months old so even a "babyproofed" room would be dangerous. Any advice and/or reassurance would be greatly appreciated!

I'd stay away from crib tents. A bunch of them have been recalled lately due to toddler injuries/deaths.

BTW, my very-active climbing toddler did not attempt to escape until he was 22 months. We stood beside the PNP and crib and just put him back every time he began climbing out. He's only climbed out twice so far and still sleeps in the crib at 30 months.

If she's *just now* pulling herself up to stand, it's going to be a little while before she can Houdini out of it. Should give you a little while to research options.

I also don't think she'll be able to climb out of it yet. To climb out, that means she'd need to have the arm strength to pull her whole weight and the ability to hook her leg over the top.

You should be able to lower the crib mattress to the very bottom, so that will make it just as difficult.

Yes to what diggity said. She's pretty young and likely not strong enough to get out of a pack and play (assuming it's not still in the bassinet conmfiguration).

You guys are the best! This is just the reassurance I needed! Thank you thank you thank you! I guess I just kind of freaked out when I saw her standing up in the Pack N Play and I was catastrophizing. Really, I should have just been excited about the new milestone. It's been a big week- standing, and her first two teeth!
