Dd is set to be a flower girl in my bil's wedding in July. The bride has selected a long, sleeveless dress for dd to wear. It is a very pale yellow (looks white in the picture she sent me). I'm supposed to buy shoes and a sweater for the dress, and am wondering what color to go with.

I looked on target.com and at payless.com, and found ivory and white Mary Janes that would work, but my feeling is that they're a little boring. I made the mistake of going to Flora and Henri and saw these: http://www.florahenri.com/catalog/pr...id=41&pid=2289

They're gold. Is that crazy? Of course, I'm not going to buy these $100 Mary Janes for my 2-year old, but I got to thinking that a color other than ivory might be kind of nice, and dd would actually be able to wear them with something else when we're done with this wedding.

We aren't church-goers and don't do Easter dresses or anything like that, so the shoes really would just be for this occasion.

AND... My sense it that dd isn't even going to walk down the aisle. She will be so scared. I'm pretty sure dh is going to have to drag our screaming bebe to wherever she has to go. That's what you get when you ask a toddler to do this... They've been warned.

If you think it's a one time wear I would go with a white Mary Jane from payless and a white cardi from Target. So fun for her to be a flower girl!

Hahahaha! You're right. Gold is a little wild. Guess I'm trying to live a little vicariously through my daughter, while at the same time throwing her under the fashion victim bus.

I keep hoping BIL will get his act together so that A will get to be in a wedding.

Anyway, I would keep an eye out you might be able to find some gold shoes like that somewhere cheap, otherwise yes I'd just go with white.

My flower girls just wore those glittery toms. They all loved them and i got so many compliments on how cute they were. I figured they would be something they could "wear again." And I've seen pictures of two of them wearing them post wedding on Facebook already.

They wore silver, but pretty sure they come in gold also. (plus a couple of other colors).

I like the pair you picked out better, but these are only $34: http://www.toms.com/m/youth/wedding-...-toms-glitters
