DH just brings home some saline IV syringes - they work really well to just get some drops in the nose! The saline helps loosen everything a bit more. How's D feeling, T&S?

She seems to be ok when she's upright. She just seems miserable and tired though because she's not sleeping. I think she'll be fine though. Got that Nose Frieda thing on order so we'll survive!

Worst case, her 6 month appt is on Friday.

I hope she is better soon! Baby girl got her first cold at about 11 months- not from daycare since I am at home- I blame hubby for bringing it home ;p He would sleep upright with her on his chest and it seemed to help her a LOT....He insisted it was just a cold but I still took her to her pediatrician -I like a second opinion- how's that for being over protective? It was a cold but he was smart enough not to say "I told you so"....The one thing I would watch for are her ears, our pediatrician said some babies get secondary ear infections after colds so it is GREAT that you have a check up on Friday...hugs!

We "slept" upright last night on some pillows. She seemed to sleep relatively well for a while but I had to suction her nose twice - cue the blood curling screams. My nosefrida arrives tomorrow thank goodness! Mama is tired but baby girl seems fine when she can breathe!

DH didn't even move when I suctioned her nose in our bathroom at 3 and 5 AM (7 feet from the bed) - I admit it made me really sad. Pre-residency, he would have been at my side in a second making sure she was ok. I know he would have gotten up if I'd asked him but it makes me sad that he's not able to parent the way he would have if it weren't intern year.

Hanginginthere - that's a great point re: secondary ear infections. I had horrible ear infections as a kiddo so I'll make sure they check!

I totally get that! I know hubby wishes he was around more...I hope she feels better soon and that you can get some rest, too.
