  • Ice cream: cooking activity for toddlers

We did this at the library story time today. The librarian read a Mo Willems book about ice cream, and then she did this with us! So much fun for dd.

I haven't watched the video, but I remember making ice cream at a fair booth for our high school chemistry class. The kids loved it!! Thanks for the reminder!

Yes! They had soy milk at the library too! And it worked. I love our library.

Very cool! (no pun intended) Of course, I've told K1 that he's not getting ice cream again unless he poos in the potty. (He's driving me nuts.)

Funny story: We went to a birthday party at the children's museum where they were making ice cream using Nitrogen Oxcide. They warned the kids to stay away so they wouldn't be burned. The mixture started bubbling and boiling over and made a horrendous mess. K2 started to cry and while I was tending to him, K1 started running toward the table where the ice cream was being made. Everyone yelled at him and, as I was pulling him back to his chair, he loudly announced "I was getting a paper towel to clean up the mess!" Yup, that's my boy.
