My three play war. The classic card game. Phe (2) doesn't quite get it, but D (6) and K (4) love it and tolerate Phe's intermittent playing really well.
CandyLand, Chutes and Ladders and Memory are classics here...they play Cootie with my mom sometimes. She and my dad LOVE to play games with the kids. My mom is great about adjusting the rules to change the game up or to make it more fair for everyone.
A new favorite is Zingo. It has a math slant.
I'm going to get Hullabaloo.Mom of 3, Veterinarian

I second Zingo! Also we play a lot of card games ...uno, old maid, crazy eights, etc. My son loves Clue Jr (he's 6) but my 3 year old doesn't get that one at all. Our problem with games is competitiveness and sore losers, but that's another thread entirely...Wife to a PGY-7 Interventional Cardiology Fellow, Mom to two. DS(7) and DD(3).

The winner of the game is required to say something along the lines of, "Maybe next time you'll win." And the losers say, "Thanks for playing with me." If it doesn't curb the sore loser/winner thing then games go away for a few weeks.Kris
