    Holy shitsticks!!
I was playing with these beads with dd: http://www.ponybeadstore.com/

And then, all of a sudden, dd decided to stick one up each nostril. I got one out, and the other was lodged in there. It kept going higher and higher...

I called a cab and took it to dh's hospital. We arrived, and dh came down, whisked us to an exam room,
and pulled the mother f*cker out with some long scissor-like tweezer tool. Holy crap.

My dh is a rock star, who will never ever let us go to the ER until he's had a look first.

YIKES! A friend's little girl stuck a bean up her nose, and because of the moisture in the nose, the bean started expanding :-0

Keep some hemostats or needle drivers at home for this type of emergency. Those fuckers are handy as hell.

Just because they're 3, doesn't mean they don't still stick things into orifices!!!

Glad all is good now! I agree with keeping some tools at home. They do come in handy sometimes. Hopefull M learned her lesson and wont be sticking any more shit up her nose.

There goes my theory about it only happening to the parents who aren't paying attention. . I was sitting in front of her holding the string for her to string the beads!

Dd was a bit shaken after the whole thing, and she got lectured from everyone: the cab driver, dh, my dad, my mom, the ups man (he bumped into us as we were coming home).

The funniest part was when we were waiting for dh to come meet us at the hospital. I asked dd where the bead was (I couldn't see it--it was in so deep that it wasn't visible!) and she started rattling off random stuff. One of her little gems was "is today Hannukah?"

Ayaiyai. Since Sunday alone, dh has worked 50 hours. N

If this happens again, cover the unaffected nostril and blow in her mouth. Often, the offender comes flying out (DH has moms do this in the ED before he sticks any tool in a kid's nose).

Thank you for that tip! I don't think it would have worked this time around because of the way the bead was lodged, but I will remember this for the future.
