  • Plane travel with 3.5 year old

Dd is 30 pounds, and 37 inches tall. She'll be 3.5 in about a month, and we are flying to Hawaii in April. Would I still put her in a car seat?

She might still have room at 37" for her legs depending on your carseat. We let dd4 use the airplane belt when she was 38" because with the Britax Boulovard she had to sit criss cross applesauce the entire flight, lol. If your seat is more compact she'll be fine.

I brought a car seat this past week for DD (4 in a few weeks). She's about 35 pounds and about 36". She was more comfortable in turbulence with her buckles fastened, and was able to sleep a bit on the headrest. We flew Hawaiian in a 767, and there was room for her to use the tray while sitting in her seat (Cosco Scenera) with feet hanging down.

Thanks! Ok--I think I'll bring the car seat. It's tiny an even fits in some overhead bins.
