How do you wash lovies? I'm not a germaphobe by any stretch but they're getting gross!

I tried to wash one and it came out mangy and smelly (like mildew). Luckily it was one that she isn't attached to so I could chuck it.

Lingerie bag, thrown in with her clothes (perm press cycle). I throw them in the dryer as well.

For bigger stuffies, I always put them through a few dryer cycles (on med).

Or, in an older pillow case if you don't have an LB.

I'm lazy, I just throw them in with the regular laundry. Wash on warm and rinse on cold. Never had anything fall apart.

I wash ones of importance in a pillow case - others I just throw in with the regular laundry.

I wash Os in a pillow case on the hand wash cycle. The dry on delicate still in pillow case.

I make sure we have nothing with fluffy fur and everything else gets tossed in the washer with the regular laundry. S's baby that she has been sleeping with since she was just a few weeks old is still looking pretty good.

This is the issue. The one she loves the most if this fluffy fox.

I surface-clean because lumpy stuffing makes me twitch, LOL. I make a solution of laundry detergent and water, stir up some suds and squish them through the outer layer pretty thoroughly, then get a tub of clear water and squish that through too. The outside gets fairly saturated but the stuffing isn't wet enough to mildew. Then I either wring it out in a towel or throw it through the spin cycle. Air dry then toss in the dryer to fluff.

And he smells fine, too! The only one that didn't come clean/stank free was MY clown lovie, which was not only nasty, but 30 years old
