  • infant car seat rec needed

I was hoping to be able to use M's car seat set up (Maxi Cosi Mico with car seat adapters for the Bugaboo Cameleon). I'm finding that the car seat only fits in its base with a lot of wrangling and praying to the car seat gods. Same story for loading/installing the seat onto the adapters. It just won't click into place without swearing at it.

I decided to bag it with the bugaboo and try a snap n go... My neighbor gave me hers! And as luck would have it, the 2009 maxi cosi mico doesn't work with the UNIVERSAL snap n go.

So now I think I should get a new car seat and base. Any recs for EASY in and outs of its base and a snap n go?

Interestingly, I do sense that after 5 years the plastic on the seat and base has broken down a little. The seat M used expires this month!

    TIA!

I love my Chicco Keyfit 30, but I've only snapped it into things made specifically for it (car bases, Chicco Caddy, and UppaBaby adapter). The one thing I don't like about the carseat is the sunshade, but I just got a carseat canopy to make up for that.

If I could go back I wouldn't get a Graco again. It's not awful but it wasn't great

Thanks! From what I've read, the Britax also isn't compatible with the snap n go. I'm not sure about Chicco, but will look into it. Gahhh! I really didn't want to have to buy new gear. Right? Right.

That's probably true. We bought it with a a Britax double stroller (dd5 still rides in it daily) so I didn't worry about the snap n go.

This is exactly how I feel about ours, too. (Graco Snugride) There's nothing really "wrong" with it, but I've just never liked it very much.

I liked our Graco Snugride, but I never took it out of the car.

I figured that it was only for 5-6 months and it never came out of the car, so the Graco worked fine for both mine.

Looks like Baby Trend has a list of seats that work? You could search those names on the car-seat.org site for reviews of safety and usability?

Part of my problem with the Snugride is probably just that DS hated being in the infant car seat, which obviously wasn't Graco's fault. FWIW, the Snugride did snap in and out of the base very easily, and it worked great with my adapter for the stroller.

I ordered a chicco keyfit 30. Sight unseen... You just can't find baby stores that stock a good selection around here. I also got the adapter for my cameleon and this should work! Thanks, everyone.

It's great!!! My only regret is that we missed being able to use it the first 6 weeks of C's life. I can't believe how much we tortured ourselves with the other setup. It required so much hand strength. I just knew I wasn't the weakest mom out there....

I'm tempted to sell our Graco and get a keyfit for our next kid
