  • Santa gifts

Ok, let's go ahead and get it out first. I know it's only September, but I LOVE Christmas and all things fall/winter holiday. And even more so am especially looking forward to this year!

So, what are some great "Santa gifts" for kids? Larger type gifts, usually requiring a little assembly, but not breaking the bank. I'm interested specifically in the about to crawl stage of life, but think it would be great to get suggestions for all ages.

Just for kicks I'll throw out the first one. When I was 8 or 9 Santa brought me a dollhouse. I thought it was the best thing since sliced bread.

I remember getting a play kitchen one Christmas. That was awesome. I always enjoy seeing them in the toy store, can't wait to get one for myself, err I mean our daughter

What are some of the things you all have done for a newborn at Christmas? I know I won't have the time or energy for much, but I would like to do something. I love Christmas too.

American girl dolls. LOVED them so much. Like more than anything.

I never had the babies, but my mom usually gives those a gifts to friends girls in the first year.

For babies, we got them cute holiday pajamas and a little people nativity (or menorah would obviously work if you're Jewish).

For toddlers, play kitchen was a hit. This year I think we will do a scooter. We try to open gifts slowly so the kids can enjoy each gift rather than just opening a million gifts.

Love the little people idea. So sweet.

And, Scarlett, I love play kitchens too! I'm going to save that for a couple years down the line!!

I think DS would really like a play kitchen, but I'm just so tired of our house filling up with toys that I can't imagine buying him something that large this year. Maybe after we move for fellowship.
He just got the Little People barnyard and car/race track for his birthday, and he LOVES that.
For Christmas this year we might get him a balance bike. Probably a lot of giraffe stuff, too, since he's obsessed right now.

N is getting a dollhouse this year. I got it used on a swap site and it came with a ton of accessories.

I'm scared to think of how it will take over my house and am considering a guerrilla "bring it to live at grandmas big new house" tactic

Both of these type of activity centers were huge hits with all our kiddos. They used them for years for different types of play. Would be a super fun Santa gift
