Ds4, who was full term, started to exhibit some mild developmental delays around nine months. Prior to then, he was diagnosed with failure to gain weight (FTGW) due to low milk supply and his absolute refusal to take a bottle. By nine months, he was improving but was still just barely on the growth charts.

I couldn't get an evaluation appointment until he was around 11 months. Between the time he was referred for an Eval and the appointment, he seemed to make a lot of developmental progress. Little stinker.

He was evaluated to be within normal parameters in all categories but two (gross motor and verbal?? don't remember). In the two categories, he was just shy of normal. He did not qualify for services. The evaluator said she wasn't concerned and we should just wait and watch him.

It sounds like your little one is doing just fine and will begin to do things on her own schedule, just like my guy. He is now almost 14 months and on the cusp of waking and says a few words.

I'm glad I got the evaluation. It was very informative.
