I don't think the TVs are going to be removed - they weren't even in their own classroom watching it this time, they were in another room down the hall. I knew they were there going in, and the benefits of the school as a whole outweighed that for me when compared to my other options here. The rooms also get used during non-school hours too by the church that owns the school. My only request is that they not sit and watch a whole episode of something as some sort activity.

I also feel really stupid that I don't remember who the director is right now. The original director left after she lost her baby. I know we got a letter about the woman who took her place stepping down to go back to teaching, but I honestly don't remember if that has happened already, and I can't remember the name of the woman who was taking her place. So basically I just called and asked to talk to the director, but she's in a meeting, and I felt silly leaving a message with the girl at the front desk (who knows me, because I see her twice a day every day) when I don't even know the name of the person I'm trying to call, so I just said I'd call back. I also called from my work phone so there's no caller ID.Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer

And, apparently I just imagined that she was stepping down - the same woman is the director. I called back and they said the best way to contact her would be e-mail, so I'm sending her one now.Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer

Good luck! I'm generally more forgiving with the aftercare people than the "regular" teachers. But I wouldn't like to see that setup either. There are no TVs that I know of at my son's daycare.Julia - legislative process lover and general government nerd, married to a PICU & Medical Ethics attending, raising a toddler son and expecting a baby daughter Oct '16.

On the plus side, they get to play in this thing every day - I can't remember if I've shared this or not.

Her response:
Good afternoon,
I apologize for just replying.
Our TV policy is that students can watch TV for maximum 15 minute intervals in their classrooms. An appropriate, acceptable time when teachers use the TV would be during transition like waking up from nap time. Your knowledge of having musical and educational videos on during these times is accurate.
This is not something you can expect to continue. In fact, I appreciate you making me aware so I can properly address it.
I appreciate you taking the time to notify me. Please let me know if this arises again. We love E and want to make sure she is receiving quality care while in in our care.
If you have any questions or wish to speak further, please let me know. Have a great day!
Thanks!Allison - professor; wife to a urology attending; mom to baby girl E (11/13), baby boy C (2/16), and a spoiled cat; knitter and hoarder of yarn; photographer
