DH gave up the peds partly because of the cray cray parents. I have to admit Peds was f-ing gross. DH had to have shoes he could hose off because we did have to remove bodily fluids on more than one occasion. I was always sick. His coat was disgusting...slobber, poop, pee, snot, etc. His shirts had iodine stains from circumcisions. Best one was vomit found INSIDE the pocket. I would have biohazard those coats (as in trash them) but they were embroidered with duckies, bears, froggies, etc. Oh yeah - good times...cootie doc has nothing on those days.

Hats off to those that do peds!
Finally - we are finished with training! Hello real world!!

DH started wanting to do peds until his third year rotations. He said peds drove him to drink each night. So much crying and stressed out parents.

I think dealing with the parents would be the hardest part. And sometimes so sad.
Our friend here is a peds. When we get together, I'll joke that I save him phone calls from two of my besties that use him for their kids. I triage them...lol. I also find it funny when he asks me questions about his kids. "You're the pedi! How do I know?"
        He still asks. 😉

I love a good Scrubs reference, but I am super confused right now.

Jack gets sick as a baby. Cox tells the selected pediatrician "how it's gonna be," ped says no dice, so Cox steals one of his props and holds it hostage to get Jack seen. This clip is from Cox making his demands, and the pediatrician realizing he stole the doll (Mr. Cookie Pants). 😄

This is so true! DH has a ton of goodies in his exam rooms (to keep the kids occupied), and he has had a ton of shit stolen. Including some clocks off the wall. One time, he chased after a parent who was walking down the hall with his 3ft tall Buzz Lightyear. He was like, "Excuse me, that's mine." And she told him he was a doctor and could buy a new one himself. Are you freaking kidding me?!?

Hahaha. I had forgotten the rest of that particular plot. DH definitely gets his share of crazy parents.

I have had two friends with kids in the PICU over the last couple months (never good), and one day DH comes home: "I'm sorry to tell you this, but your friend is a crazy parent."
