Tell me all the things. And how long I should try before throwing in the towel.

Backstory: we have 3 bedrooms. C and D have been in separate rooms since DHs sister left in Sept and D came out of our closet. In the last 2 weeks, I have finally been able to get D to sleep quickly and leave by just shutting the door. It's been amazing! I've been able to get work done and be asleep before midnight most nights.

So, DHs parents are visiting for the weekend and he's on call. We decided to try the girls together tonight instead of putting D in our closet to wake up every time the pager goes off. Tonight is the first night....it is NOT going well. (Remember D has a floor bed so she's got free range). She will not stay in bed, she's rolling around, prancing/singing/carrying on. C is just lying there and occasionally telling the tiny terror to go to sleep. I think it's just a new environment but this sucks. I just lost my evening freedom again.

I also just yelled for the first time in several days because I've already gone I'm there like 35x to tell D to be quiet.

I really do want them to share a room. That's always been the plan. We'd like to have a guest bedroom and will start trying for #3 before you know it. I know this will take work but how long before she cuts it out and I get my life back in the evenings. I'm so over this and it's only night 1.

Stagger bedtimes a little bit so that D goes t bed (and to sleep) first, without anyone in there with her to show off for. I do think it will take some time to adjust, but putting them to bed separately for a while might help. Hopefully that wouldn't screw up C's bedtime routine too much....
