  • Summer PJs

What the heck do babies sleep in during the summer? What do yours sleep in when its hot out?

E currently sleeps in footed long sleeve sleepers, and is also swaddled. We just had a "heat wave" here where it was in the mid-upper 80s for 7+ days, very warm for May. The HVAC for our split level house just cannot keep up, and it gets very warm in our bedrooms. Even with ceiling fans on high in dark rooms, it can get to be over 80 degrees in them at bedtime. Higher temps this summer will only exacerbate the problem.

I'm willing to change what she sleeps in, as she is getting close to needing the next size. I'm a little more reluctant to get rid of the swaddle altogether, as she does look to put a blanket/lovie next to her face as a sleep aid. Plus I'm scared of further sleep regression at a stressful time for me. Help!

We have been doing a onesie and a swaddle lately.

We weren't above a Onesie & shorts (or just onesie) when it was really hot.

Literally just a onesie. If you are swaddling, you could go just diaper if she doesn't break the swaddle until she wakes up. My kids would wake themselves up if they got too sweaty and ain't nobody got time for that...
