Any must-haves for a second baby? I have an Amazon registry that I've put together, mostly to keep track of stuff that I know we'll need and to get a completion discount, but also in case anybody wants to buy us anything. Our church usually throws sprinkles for subsequent babies.

So far I have an additional camera for the monitor and a few things for the nursery. I've also ordered the attachments for the big stroller (rumble seat and glider board for the Uppababy Vista), because they stopped making that model and I wanted to get those before they were completely impossible to find.

I was telling my mom I'd consider a double umbrella at some point, but I wish I could get an Uppababy. And then I found out that they are making the G-Link, a double version of the G-Luxe that only weighs 20lbs. Oh man, I want one!! Maybe if I start saving now, we can afford it by the time baby #2 can use it.

I got a few boy specific things and clothes, but that was about it. And a new swing, but I'm still in search of a perfect swing!

We didn't get much for DS2. (Poor guy!) New swing, double stroller, mini crib (now he sleeps in DS1's old crib), and a couple new swaddles. We reused DS1's infant car seat. Oh, but I wanted lots of places to put him down safely since I knew my hands would be full the second time around, so we got an extra bouncy chair. That thing was a lifesaver.

We didn't get much either. She got her own "floor bed" (twin mattress) at 6 months...

I want a jumperoo if we have #3. What kind of bouncy chair OrionGrad ?

Hand me downs, mostly. Some clothing (seasonal differences), and a few replacement items that didn't make it -- crib sheets, some additional cloth diapers, a new swing (I like the old school ones the best, so I hunted one down on Amazon).
Double stroller was a very generous hand me down Michele.

We also purchased a twin sized bed for DS1 so DS2 could crib it up.

TulipsAndSunscreen We had the Comfy Time Bouncer from FP. Got it used from a neighbor, but we LOVED that thing.

I remember posting a similar thread when I was pregnant with K2. Especially if the second baby is the same sex as the first and the first is relatively little, there really isn't much. The big purchases were a second crib (K1 was still using his and it was a convertible anyway so we expect that he'll use it indefinitely), a carseat (we had the infant one but in short order we needed two toddler seats), and the double stroller. I asked for some personalized items for K2 since we had a lot of stuff with K1's name on it and it seemed unfair.

Oh duh, I guess I could have actually searched for that, @MrsK. We're going to get furniture for the second room, for the same reasons. At some point, if this one's another girl, they could share a room, but we've got an extra room and don't really need a guest room, so it makes sense to split them up for now. We've got the infant seat, pack n play, travel crib, swing, bouncy seat (we have the FP snugapuppy in both of these), activity mat, Exersaucer, and a carrier. And toys, blankets, and swaddles. We tried to get most of it gender neutral, although we'll need all new clothes if this one's a boy.

Wait, didn't you already find out that it's a girl? Am I confused?

Nope, we don't know yet.

We got some hand-me-down boy clothes when we found out DS was a boy. We reused the crib (ours were in toddler beds by 16-18 months), skipped the double stroller bc I preferred to wear my babies. We had no shower or sprinkle. We were moving a few months later so we got rid of far more baby stuff than we acquired.

Are you going to find out the sex ALOY?? Are those blood tests any cheaper now or do you still wait until 20 weeks.

Unless medically indicated, the free DNA test is still crazy expensive (like > $1500 IIRC). My OB told me the insurance companies still fight him on it because of the cost.

We will find out, but I'm not paying for the blood test. Hoping my OB will do a 16wk ultrasound, otherwise we might pay for one at the local 3d place. It's only $65, plus you get a discount on a 3d later if we decide to do that again. We thought we maybe saw boy parts at the 12 week scan, but it's a little too early to tell for sure.

Technically it was covered by our insurance, but only if medically indicated. I wasn't going down that path. Progenity (Progenity Verifi was the option we had) said that if insurance didn't cover, the max cost to us would be $250. However, I just wasn't up for an insurance fight and I didn't see that guarantee anywhere on paper. And it wasn't really medically indicated...so we skipped.
