  • Diaper Rash

Wasn't there some miracle diaper rash cure recipe on here at some point? I can't seem to find it - although only searching on my phone. anyway - if anyone knows it, I'd be very interested! The hypoallergenic formula is making the little one happier, but he is pooping nonstop. I think we probably have our first diaper issue brewing.

I love Earth Mama, Angel Baby Bottom Balm. You can get it on Amazon or diapers.com. It's great for everyday use and not as messy as Destin etc.
I'm convinced that using that and Seventh Generation diapers is what limited us to one minor diaper rash in two years.

I remember it was Jenn P who always had the recipe at hand...I never used it though, and I don't remember what was in it. Milk of magnesium or something? If it's still just brewing you could probably stave off anything ugly by using a barrier cream diligently (even petroleum jelly).

        Diaper Rash

Bumped an old thread called "stool for 3 year olds."

Eta: just realized it's really long, but the recipe is at the end. Had trouble quoting the part I wanted.

Get Triple Paste and a tube of Lotrimin. After a poop if you suspect a sore bottom stop using wipes, switch to a cool wet washcloth. Pat dry the bottom and then let baby go diaper free as long as possible. When you diaper slather the Triple Paste on liberally. If you also suspect a yeast infection apply a small layer of Lotrimin first. Repeat as necessary. But best to keep diaper off and bottom dry as much as you can and do lots of baths just to let baby's bottom soak.

I've used all of the above with good results but we go with Earth Mama Angel Baby for normal use just because it is less messy. If it is really stubborn, definitely suspect a yeast infection. poor baby J suffered for too long with one because it didn't hit me what it was

Yes, we've used most of the above with good success. If you go with Desitin, definitely use the purple container instead of the blue.

Yes. I'm trying to remember. It was a compound of something like vaseline and antacids.

No. Not desitin. Just the maalox and aquaphor. I used it for K2.

I used diaper cream, Aquaphor, and Maalox. My Ped said to use whatever cream I could find with the highest zinc percentage.
