I dropped E off at school in panties with several changes of clothes. We'll see how this goes...

Good luck! Mine did better at school than at home.

She had a poop accident. Her teacher called just to talk about how we were doing everything with her, just so they could do the same at school - they were in before care when I dropped her off this morning, so I didn't get a chance to talk to her then. At least she pooped though. She held it in all day Saturday and most of Sunday, until she had a swim diaper on. We were giving her a little bit of Miralax just to make sure she didn't get constipated from it all. Hopefully the rest of the day goes well.

Can I make a suggestion? Dollar store underwear. You've got a lot going on right now and it's honestly easier to pitch really gross poop underwear. I'm not overly squeamish but dealing with poop underwear out in public is just not happening.

Both of mine trained in cheap dollar store underwear and suffered no rashes or any problems connecting that just bc you throw it out doesn't mean it's a diaper.

Thanks! We started with the training panties for the extra absorbency, but I'll pick some up if this doesn't go well. Fortunately she's at school for a lot of the day, and they're willing to work with the kids.

We're working on it too. I started about 2 months ago and he was kind of reluctant so we took a break. Now he's very eager. Unfortunately the timing hasn't been great with vacation and him having an upset tummy (I finally figured out that he cannot have grape juice!). Hopefully this week we can get out and about more without pull ups. Good luck!

She's been wanting to use the potty for a while, especially since seeing friends do it. For like a month, she would sit on the potty and try so hard, but nothing ever came out. While I was in Houston with C the second time, she apparently figured out how to make herself pee, so she's been peeing on the potty for a while, though it's mostly been with diaper changes, and we'll tell her to go sit on the potty and she'll do it for a Skittle. We tried pull-ups, but she just treated them like diapers and got a rash if we didn't change them often enough. I wanted to do the naked approach on Saturday, just to see what would happen, but she didn't want to be naked, so I offered panties and she got excited. She only had one small accident on Saturday and Sunday the whole time she had them on (mostly in the morning). I asked her this morning what she wanted to wear, because I didn't want to force it, and she requested panties, so that's what we did. I'm curious to see how she did at school, especially with a lot more going on. They have potties in the classroom so she can get there quickly if necessary. I also put her in a dress for easier access, and hopefully fewer wardrobe changes if necessary.

Yeah C treats pull ups just like diapers too. He doesn't really like wearing diapers now but will wear pull ups for naps etc. because they're for big boys. Underwear are his big motivator too. Isn't it amazing how they suddenly reach that point where they're able to tell when they have to go? He actually used the real toilet when we were in Target last week.
Night time will be a whole other thing. He still wets so heavily when he sleeps. Hope today went well!

Night time is hard. DD (4years old) still wakes up wet every morning. I haven't even tried night training yet. I'll wait until she has a few good stretches.

My 6 and almost 4yo boys still wear pull ups at bedtime. The 6yo is wet every morning. Our pediatrician says some boys don't stay dry at night until they are 8yo.

BTW, have you seen "my carry potty"? I'm thinking of getting one for lambie.

My friend said her 3 year old boy is dry through the night and I'll admit my first thought was if he's getting enough fluids!
That's good to know though. I can't imagine C waking up to go potty any time soon.
I was thinking of getting one of those MrsK. Car rides are difficult because he knows there's no potty nearby. He doesn't tell me he has to go.

Potty training

The back of our car had this cheap ikea potty: http://m.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/art/30193163/
Paired with copious amounts of wipes and a few doggy poo bags and we were covered for on-the-go near misses. Parenthood sure is glamorous. Oh- and the carseat pee protector was essential.

I'm so dreading this phase. I'm already thinking about how awful it's going to be.

We aren't dry yet at night for anyone (4 and 2). Dh said nighttime wetting can actually happen thru puberty and be normal.

D still poops in her pull up at nap a lot. I'm not fighting it that hard mostly bc I know that it will result in nap naughtiness and stalling if I let her out at nap to poop.
