The car potty has saved my butt many times! Like when she announced she had to go just after we returned to the car after a major league ball game or on a road trip or basically anyplace else where I can't drop everything and drag 3 kids to a toilet. The boys, however, rarely use it. They have different plumbing and can pee anywhere.

Car potty is a must for 6+ months after potty training. After that, I can remove it and as long as they're reminded to go before leave, they're ok.

We actually only did the car potty when we traveled, and even then I think she only used it once. But we didn't go places too often, and I was usually able to get her to go before we got in the car. Totally different with more than 1 though, when it's a lot harder to drag kids to and from the potty.

Same. I think we've used the car potty once, and that was on an 8 hour road trip. My boys looove to go in public restrooms though (lucky me &#128580, so getting them to go when we're out and about hasn't been a big deal. I've never done potty training with a girl though, so it'll be interesting to see how it's different.

Heck, I've even been tempted to use it a couple times when schlepping 3 kids to the toilet seems impossible.

Gawd me too, dreading it. The first time I find poo anywhere other than in a toilet or a diaper, I just..... no.

E has actually only had a few poop accidents in panties, and never on the floor or anything, so maybe it won't be so bad? I have zero expectations that C will train as easily, but it was nice to have one thing go well at that point in life.

We never had poop on the floor either. Definitely pee but not poop.

My pro tip: potty train in dollar store underwear. You just chuck them when poop happens. Mama does NOT have time to be washing poop underwear. I will wash pee underwear no problem but I will not do poop. Especially when you're outside the house...you have to carry it home all poopy to wash it. NOPE.

I throw away the soiled underpants too. That actually has a big impact on the kids. They don't want you to throw away their underpants.

E actually randomly had a poop accident at school recently - she hates pooping at school and normally just goes at home every day, but for whatever reason she had to go at school and couldn't wait, but refused to try and go there. Anyway, her teacher just threw away the panties, and was like, hopefully that's OK! Um, YES, thank you for not sending those home for me to deal with!

100%. Especially if you buy characters or some other design they really like. They really don't want you to throw them away...

I met a mom today whose daughter was in the same preschool class Lambie will be in this Fall. She said she got a call the first day of school when her daughter had a toileting accident. They gave her 10 days and said the kid would be out if she had another accident. 🤤 school starts in less than a month. What am I going to do?!

What I would do: find a back up, let L know what the school says, and let it ride.
