Don't need info anymore but thought I would post it for future readers. It was about 11 months that my son grabbed my oldest boy's sippee cup and drank from it. He never nursed again. It was fine. I wanted to nurse for a year, but I thought 11 months was close enough. He was already sleeping through the night so that wasn't an issue.

R turned 21 months today and we are officially done with nursing. I can't believe it's been so long. He was down to a night time feed or two when I started this thread and then just bedtime. He is also sleeping through the night finally!

I hate to tell people because I don’t want to discourage breastfeeding but mine never ever slept through the night or until a reasonable morning time until they were weaned.

Well done mama. It was bittersweet for me with R (likely my last baby) but he’s still my good cuddler so it’s ok.

I think that was a huge part of it. Human pacifier.
He settled way down when we moved him into C's room and then started walking less at night.
It is bittersweet though.

TulipsAndSunscreen I heard that and I think it was true for my little guy. Once he was 12.5 months and I was 2.5 months pregnant my supply just wasn't as strong and he happily stopped waking with a few pats from DH.

so so bittersweet!
Mother's day/ 15 weeks pregnant was the last time he nursed and actually got milk. My supply disappeared and so far I'm still in pacifier at bedtime mode 2 weeks later. He just gets so much comfort from it, it doesn't really hurt me to just do once a day, and I figure soon enough he'll self wean due to total lack of milk? Just going with the flow. I already miss the nursing. Yes it's replaced with snuggles but ahhh it is just not the same connecting and peacefulness. My sleep deprived self of a few months ago would slap me lololol...

Yes! Just two months ago he was still waking twice at night. It was kind of the same for us, then the day he turned 21 months (what's with the significant days kiddos?) he didn't want to nurse at bedtime.
Of course I'm straight into "let's have another one" mode 😆

Easy for me to say though lol if this sperm hadn't snuck in there idk that I would've been able to consciously decide "I am ready" bc oh man I am not!

Haha! I don't know if you ever are really ready! Our enthusiasm for number 3 changes depends on the day 😆
Although I did feel like the transition from one to two was easier than I expected overall.

The waffling for 3 was also us. It took a year to determine we wanted to go for it.
