    Yes, I hundred percent agree. You’re engaging in the time honored ritual of freaking out for your first kid goes to daycare. It is so so hard but I promise you he will do awesome.

      Don't torture yourself. Especially stay away from anything sanctimonious that assumes you can't have good attachment if you send your kid to daycare. You absolutely can, and your kiddo will thrive with trusted caregivers other than yourself. It's all about creating a stable, loving environment, and that includes other trusted adults, however you choose to deploy them. Nothing replaces the comfort a parent can give. When he gets a bit older and you see how he comes to YOU every time he needs comfort or reassurance, you won't worry about this anymore! Promise!

        YES to what MSB said. You know how much I love our old nanny. She was with the kids, particularly C, 1:1 or 2:1 for 50+ hours per week for the first 3 years of her life. And yet C was NEVER confused about who mama was. It honestly was very much "it takes a village" and I'm grateful that my village was just a little bit bigger.
