    V-Smile Pocket vs LMax?

    The grandparents are putting money towards Christmas, and though I'm anti gaming... we are hoping to use this as a reward system with DS to help motivate him in school, at home and such... sigh, so it looks like I'm caving in LOL

    So I get mixed reviews - both are good overall, but some reviews rave the V-Smile as the best thing on earth, but them many it seems more strong reviews from parents are on the Lmax.

    Any thoughts? I had to drop money on something not worth it.

    I wholeheartedly endorse the Leapster LMAX. We have a V-Smile (not handheld), and 2 Leapsters. The Leapsters are SO much better -- graphics, games, obvious (to the adult) educational value of the games. I can't say if V-Smile made huge improvements when they went to handheld, and we do like our system overall, but we LOVE the Leapsters.

      See, now I'm going to endorse the VTECH pocket over the VSmile for one reason only....the new VSmiles have commercials on them and I HATE that! Aidan had an old Vsmile that broke. We were going to replace it 1.5 years ago when Fionnuala and Darrin were here visiting...She bought one for her daughter and it had commercials...which...NO WAY.

      We have the VTECH pocket and he loves it. I find the games to be of good educational quality. We have them in german and english and they're great.

        We have both. The leapster gets a lot more play time.
