    Re: kindergarten round up

I missed ours, but I will be getting a personal tour & Q/A with the principal of our neighborhood public school.
I am torn between keeping him at his current private school, and sending him to the one that's near us.

Oh, kindergarten is soooo bittersweet. Hugs all around.

I'm not sure what district you're in Suz but I know there are some really great public schools around. Don't discount how HUGE it is for your school to be in close proximity as your children get older. Having our school 5 minutes away makes all the difference for us. Good luck on your decision.

Oh my goodness Sylvia, a kindergartener! How exciting and scary.

Tara we're in the Kyrene school district, which is the saving grace for our property values these days! I know life will be a lot easier not having to schlep everyone to & from their current school. It's just that they get their cultural identity reinforced positively at their present school and they have learn Arabic & Quran their as well. If we go public then we will need to enroll them in a a weekend school either Sat or Sun for 2 hours...I am not sure I want to add anything mandatory to our weekends...but then again the saving in tuition would be huge! Like I said I'm torn  !?

We have kindergarten round up this spring too!

We're also torn between public and private. There are +s and -s to both!!!

I agree with Kelly, it is bittersweet. I love having DD around and I will MISS HER SO if we pick a school that stresses full day kindergarten (booooo!!!!). We decided to choose the school and then deal with the full day half day scenario. Obviously elementary school is more than just kindergarten!

Sorry for the hijack but I feel your joy and anxt!!!!!!

          Good luck!
