    Re: Camps

My oldest DD is only doing one week of resident camp about 1/2 hour away and I am doing Daycamp with both of them with Girl Scouts. That one this year is only a mile away, WooHoo!

Ummmm... That would be my trust fund... Or not.

The camps we do are pretty cheap-- VBS is always cheap or free. The boy scout camp is subsidized, so it was around $100. I sent Kate to a daycamp one year for a week for about $70- I won a silent auction at the school for 1 week of camp. (Regular price for 1 week was $400.) I have done a girl scout camp for Kate before- that was super cheap.

      Other than that???

McDonalds works for me. And a special treat is ChuckECheese which is really empty during the week, at least around here.

Girl scout camp is around $75. A week of am camp at the rec center was around $50 or $60, I think? Some of them offer assistance. It does add up though.

          Re: Camps

The boys will have swim practices or meets every day in June. The older two go to sleep away camp from Sunday through Friday the last full week of June. They are also doing a basketball "camp" that meets every other Tuesday night (it started this week, actually) to work on fundamentals....it runs through the end of June as well.

During July, we will be going with the Pollyanna plan, culminating in a week at a beach house (and quite a beach house it is) rented by DH's parents in honor of their 40th anniversary, which was actually last month. DH's two other siblings and their kids will be there, and we will also have two sitters with us so the adults can have some outings. School starts for me August 11th (my anniversary!) and a week later for my kids. That should be an interesting week.
