      OHOHOHOH!!!! I saw O'Connor IN PERSON last week! It was so cool! She came to the STL federal courthouse to open our new learning center. Since I am both pushy and tall and with another federal judge, I got a great view!

        She was pretty entertaining on the Daily Show.

          It was so cool!! (Did I say that already?) She was a great speaker. I have such admiration for her in how she is handling her husband's illness. Just amazing, selfless strength. If we all loved and were loved like that.

          I was bummed that I couldn't get my pic taken with her...I have a pic of Justice Scalia and me, when he was in town for a speech a couple of years ago. And I have a signed pic of Justice Thomas with a personlized message on the matting to my husband (DH worked with Justice Thomas's wife on the Hill, years ago, back when DH was doing a summer fellowship at Georgetown). But, I really didn't want to appear to be stalking her for a pic. The US Marshals frown on that sound of thing. And they are really big, carry sidearms, and usually wear scary-looking vests. So I thought better of it...
