    I didn't get too many gifts when I was a teacher. But I still remember a wonderful letter of thanks a mom gave me at the end of the year. We were crying together!! I always appreciated gift cards bec. you can definitely use those. I used to get alot of cheap bath stuff, which never got used. It's amazing how some parents really do feel obligated to give gifts. I will never forget getting a gift from a parent that hated me. As in threatened to go to the school board if I didn't change her daughter's grade, complaining to the principal about me. Then I get a freaking picture holder from her on the last day! Hmmm.... maybe it was a good riddance gift.
